Biography

Andre Avanessian was born and raised in Chicago, IL. He holds a BFA from Columbia College. Fascinated by film and cinema he moved to Los Angeles to work in the Hollywood studio system. Shortly after he realized he wanted to operate outside that system and become a solo artist.
In 2013, he was accepted into The School of Visual Arts in New York City and studied in the renowned photography department until his graduation. As of 2025, Andre is living in the Chicago area making works in the vast space of multimedia. Andre enjoys watching films, hiking and nature walks, creative writing, making music, and comedy. Andre is of Armenian ancestry and speaks the language fluently.
